Novel food success for Nutraveris with Chia seeds protein and fibers extracts
From EFSA positive opinion to EU regulation approval
For the worldwilde leading dietary supplement company Amway (USA), Nutraveris, the leading European consultancy in nutrition and health, has obtain two new novel food approvals by EFSA.
These applications were related to two specific chia seeds extracts (Salvia hispanica L.), one for Chia seeds fibers and one for Chia seeds proteins preparations, for use in food supplements and in a range of foodstuffs.
After receiving a positive EFSA opinion in June 2019, EU commission authorised last April 6th 2020, the placing on the market of those two partially defatted chia seed (Salvia hispanica) powders as novel foods through regulation (EU) 2020/500.
