The Regulation (EU) 2018/848 on organic production and labelling of organic products is applicable from 1 January 2022 and has repealed Regulation (EC) 834/2007. It sets out basic requirements for the production, labelling and control of organic products. More specific and detailed rules concerning the lists of products and substances allowed in organic products are laid down in the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1165. 

Products produced in accordance with Regulation (EC) 834/2007 before 1 January 2022 may be placed on the market after that date until stocks are exhausted.

Several secondary acts (implementing or delegated regulations) on importation and controls have also been published in 2021.
